Hey everyone! Today I have a polish from Takko to share with you.
Constellations is a dark teal jelly base with blue and gold flakes. Looking at the bottle, you think this will be a pretty, sparkly “night sky” kind of color. Eh, it’s not really. I’m not loving this one. The flakes look abundant in the bottle, but are so sparse on the nail you hardly notice them. I think the dark jelly base is not helping either. I love the base color but I am underwhelmed with the whole look of this polish on the nail.
My first coat was pretty much just base color, hardly any flakes at all. I took a toothpick to the sides of the bottle thinking they were stuck there, but I don’t think they were. I did a thick third coat and maybe that helped a little bit. One thing though, flakes aside, the formula of this polish was excellent! It did not want to run or pool in my cuticles at all! I had to do very little cleanup when I was done painting.
I do like this better with matte topcoat. I wanted to love this one, but I can say it’s been growing on me today and I do really like it. It just needs something to give it more oomph. I did 3 coats plus topcoat for the photos. I do have a matte topcoat on my middle finger, but it’s hard to see as I put lotion and oil on right before my photos and it glossed it up a little.
