OPI – My Dogsled Is A Hybrid & Sally Hansen Sugar Coat – Royal Icing

Hey everyone! Today I have an evolving mani for you. I loved this one so much, it’s lasted 2 whole days!

I’m going to start with OPI My Dogsled Is A Hybrid. This is from the Fall 2014 Nordic Collection. This is a bright, fresh green. It’s not grass green, or aqua or jade even. Whatever shade you want to call it, it’s really gorgeous and pretty unique. It applied so smooth! It did want to pool in my cuticles a little bit (it’s on the runny side), but that’s pretty easy to clean up. If you’re careful, this could be a OCW (one coat wonder). I did 2 coats plus topcoat for the photos. I love this one!

Then I added 2ish coats of Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Royal Icing. This is a textured polish. It is a very sheer, pale blue with pink sparkles. I don’t think this one would ever build up to opacity, but I didn’t try it. It looks really great over this OPI! I did 2ish coats plus lots of topcoat to really bring out the sparkle.

A trick to smooth out textures without a whole bottle of topcoat:

Put a coat of matte topcoat over the texture,

let that dry then add your glossy topcoat.

This way you only need one coat of glossy topcoat.

I did this trick on my index and pinky fingers and

my middle and ring fingers have 3-4 coats of glossy topcoat.

OPI My Dogsled Is A Hybrid, 2 coats plus topcoat & Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Royal Icing, 2ish coats plus 2-4 coats topcoat.

Here it is in the natural texture state without any topcoat.
