Hi everyone! Today I have another Finger Paints nail polish that I just picked up from Sally Beauty’s BOGO free sale. This was also in a new display without any collection name that I noticed. This one is from the Endless Wear line. Looking online, this seems to be a two step process of nail color with base coat built in and a special topcoat that cures this nail polish with natural light rather than a UV or LED light. I don’t need my manicures to last a long time so I did not pick up the special topcoat, nor did I read about this polish until I was done painting my nails, so I just used my regular base coat and topcoat as I normally would. I don’t like not wearing base coat anyway, even if they say you don’t need to. I’m always worried about staining.
Finger Paints Ink-Cognito is a gunmetal gray with multi colored shimmer. I will say in my darkened office, there is not a hint of the colored shimmer. Just shiny gunmetal gray gorgeousness! My finger nails have a good curve to them so on my nails the sides of this nail polish look dark gray and the center is a lighter gray. Very cool effect indoors! If you get under a bright light or sunlight, you can see some of the colored shimmer come out.
This nail polish has an excellent formula! This is a OCW! (one coat wonder) if you are careful. I left my nails at one coat on the ring and pinky and did two coats on the index and middle. This polish reminded me of another nail polish I’ve seen. I think maybe it’s OPI’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. I don’t have that one to compare, but looking online they look similar, but reading about that OPI it sounds like it is much more sheer, needing 3 coats to be opaque whereas this Finger Paints polish just needs one.
