Hi everyone! Today I have an aptly named manicure for Valentine’s week to share with you.
Black Cat Lacquer Wine & Dine is from the December 2015 A Box Indied. This is a red wine base with holo, red and gold glitter in a few sizes. So, I’m not sure what to say about this nail polish. I’ll start with the not so good. This polish seemed thick yet wanted to run into my cuticles like crazy and just like red wine in upholstery, it was impossible to clean up! The photos are from about 24 hours after I put the polish on and you can still see it’s a bit of a mess. Even with washing dishes, doing laundry, washing my hands a billion times because I’m sick. Also, a lot of glitter is stuck on the side of the bottle and a toothpick would not budge it and there are no balls in the polish to try to help dislodge it. So that’s the not so good.
On to the good stuff. This is what matters in a nail polish anyway. This is a beautiful nail polish. It has so much sparkle and depth to it. The wine base really covers up all the glitter and makes it just look red, but it’s still very pretty! Every now and then I’ll turn my hand and catch a glimpse of green or violet glitter. One coat is quite opaque but two coats adds a depth to the glitter and really makes it special! For the photos I did 2 coats plus 2 coats of topcoat.
