Finger Paints – My Best Self Portrait

Hi everyone! Today’s manicure features a “neutral with a kick” from the Finger Paints Hard As Steel Strengthening Nail Color line. I hadn’t heard of this particular Finger Paints line, but I don’t get to Sally’s very often and Finger Paints are exclusive to them. So I think this is a relatively new nail polish.

Finger Paints My Best Self Portrait is a nude base with pink shimmer. I think this would be a great neutral for the office, but if you’re in a boring meeting, you will have the pretty pink shimmer to distract you. In some lighting this almost takes on a mauve appearance (see my shade photos below), but usually it’s just a pretty nude. Formula was on the thick side, which I prefer. This dries very shiny on it’s own but I did add topcoat as usual. I used 2 easy peasy coats and topcoat for my manicure today.

Hi Pam. Thanks for the compliments! I don't have that Essie, so I'm not sure. Judging by online photos, the Essie may be a bit darker. A lot of bloggers say Demure Vixen is a mauvey color, and while this Finger Paints would look mauve in certain lighting, I would definitely say it was nude (with that pink shimmer) most of the time.
