Sally Hansen – Pink Slip & Golden Rule & Spark in the Dark

Hi everyone! Today’s manicure features a trifecta from Sally Hansen. This may have been better looking in my head, but I still like it a lot!

Sally Hansen – Pink Slip & Golden Rule & Spark in the Dark

I started with Sally Hansen Pink Slip from the Complete Salon Manicure line. This is an off white crelly. Not quite sheer enough to be a jelly, but too sheer to be a creme. I did three coats and was pretty happy with it, but then I had to walk the dog too soon and dinged a couple nails. So I added a fourth coat and topcoat. This is sheer, but it built up nicely. It’s not chalky like some whites are prone to be. I’d say it’s a very good formula for this type of polish and it’s a very nice color. I don’t really see any pink to it though.

Then I added 1 coat of Sally Hansen Golden Rule, also from the Complete Salon Manicure line. This is a clear base topper with one uniform size of gold metallic glitter. Very shiny and a very good formula. It distributed really well on the nail and came out on the brush perfectly. Some of the photos make it appear to have silver and gold glitter, but that must be a weird light reflection because I’m pretty sure it’s all gold.

Then, I just couldn’t stop there, so I added about 1 coat of Sally Hansen Spark in the Dark. This one is from the Xtreme Wear line. Another clear base glitter topper. This one has gold and black glitter in a few sizes including black bar glitter. I’m not a fan of bar glitter, so I tried to take it all off my nails, but I see one piece made it through. This one is a bit more base heavy than Golden Rule and you need to maneuver the glitter just a little bit. This glitter comes out on the brush really well, you just get a good bit of clear base also and that can quickly make your mani too thick and bubbly.

So here’s the finished mani and these photos were taken in natural light on an overcast day…

Well, there we have it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
