Chanel – 517 Mistral

Hi everyone! Today’s manicure features a Chanel that was released in 2010. I was so lucky to have found a seller on a Craigslist type site that had a bunch of older polish for sale (this was back in 2012). I picked up a lot of older polishes for a pretty great price!

Chanel – 517 Mistral

Chanel 517 Mistral is part of the 2010 Chanel Les Pop-Up de Chanel Collection. I think my bottle has changed color because in googling this polish, it looks like it should be a pink (and my spreadsheet has it listed as pink) and mine is definitely an orange creamsicle color. It does have some iridescent micro shimmer that is all but lost once on the nail in normal lighting . Formula was good but kind of streaky. I tried the matte topcoat trick which is, I painted two coats of color and added a coat of matte topcoat and let that dry. Then I added one more coat of color and a glossy topcoat. That seemed to do the trick, but there is still visible nail line even after all that. I still like this a lot, even if it has changed color and is more on the sheer side.

Well, there we have it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
