Hi everyone! Today’s manicure is also a comparison between two gorgeous, sparkly, perfect for the holiday’s, red nail polishes. One of these is still easily available (the China Glaze) and one is discontinued, but available for a price on Ebay (the OPI).
OPI Smitten With Mittens is from the Holiday Wishes collection from 2009. This is a deep red with red and gold sparkles. The base covers the gold on the nail and it just looks red. The sparkle with this one is not over the top, it’s a bit more subdued in the darker base. Formula was excellent. I used 2 coats plus topcoat. This polish is on all but my middle finger.
China Glaze Ruby Pumps first came out in 2001 and was re-released in 2009 in the Wizard of Ooh Ahz collection. This one is still very easy to find at retail locations. This is a brighter red base with red sparkles. The sparkles are much more pronounced in this brighter red base. Formula was excellent on this one as well. I used 2 coats plus topcoat for my manicure today. Ruby Pumps is only on my middle finger.
I really love both of these nail polishes. I think I actually prefer the brighter, more sparkly Ruby Pumps. They were both so smooth and easy to apply.
