Powder Perfect – Mad As A March Hare // March 2017 For The Love Of Polish Box

Hi everyone! Today’s manicure is another of the trio from this month’s For The Love Of Polish box. The theme this month is Garden Tea Party. Illyrian, Polished For Days and Powder Perfect make up this box and as of my writing this post, there are still some boxes available for purchase HERE. I used the Illyrian Polish for yesterday’s manicure. You can see that post HERE. Powder Perfect comes to us all the way from Australia. I am not affiliated with this box or any of these brands.

Powder Perfect – Mad As A March Hare // March 2017 For The Love Of Polish Box

Mad As A March Hare is described as, “a bright spring green holographic with pink and rainbow iridescent flakes”. They took the words right out of my mouth, at least the first part. This is a pretty spring green holographic. It isn’t a super, ultra holo, but a nice subtle one. The holographic shows up really well in the sun, but it’s not blinding. I didn’t notice the flakies or glitter until I was cropping my photos. They showed up, but I don’t notice them on the nail in normal indoor light or the bright sun.

This is a perfect color for spring. It had a very good formula. You do want to be careful painting, especially by the cuticle. If you go over the same area it wants to drag and pick up the polish already there. It’s not a big deal, just wanted you to be aware. I used two coats plus topcoat today. I really like this one a lot!

As I was wearing it, it reminded me of something. At first I thought Nubar Reclaim, but that turned out to be much darker. However it is close to the old discontinued Milani 3D Holographic in Hi-Tech. I have a comparison at the bottom of the post of all three of these polishes.

Powder Perfect Mad As A March Hare, 2 coats plus topcoat.

Outside in direct sun…

Inside with flash (darkens the color just a bit)…

Inside with no additional flash. Here you can see the flakies pretty well…

The brush…

Comparison of Milani Hi-Tech, Powder Perfect Mad As A March Hare, Nubar Reclaim. All swatches and bottles are in that order.

The Nubar is obviously not even close, but the other two are very close. The Milani is a tad lighter and brighter and more sheer needing three coats to the Powder Perfect’s two coats. The Milani also has chunkier holographic bits. If you missed out on the Milani 3D, this Powder Perfect would be a very close substitute for you.

Well, there we have it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

The polish in this post is from my own collection and was purchased by me.
