The Don Deeva – Cardiac Arrest’ed

Hey everyone! Today’s manicure is a gorgeous thermal from The Don Deeva.  You can find this and many more beautiful things HERE. This polish is a temperature changing thermal meaning you need hot and cold to make the colors switch. So fun! I have a lot of photos again today! I am not affiliated with The Don Deeva.

The Don Deeva – Cardiac Arrest’ed

Cardiac Arrest’ed is, like I said, a temperature changing thermal. So all purple means your fingers (and surroundings) are cold, all green means your fingers (and surroundings) are warm. If your fingers are warmer (or cooler) than your surroundings, you will get a “funky french” meaning the tips of your fingers will be a different color than your nail bed. It’s easiest to see the funky french when you have at least a bit of growth past your fingertips.

The green is a grassy green and there are some dark purple, pink and blue flakies that really stand out in the warm, green state. The cold purple state is a grape purple. The flakies are a bit more hidden by the base color. But in both states when you get into the sun, there is also some scattered holo micro glitter!

Formula was excellent! Really smooth and easy to apply and changes colors quickly when you hit a new hot or cold temperature. I used two coats plus topcoat.

Thermal polishes do have a shorter life span in terms of continuing to change colors. Most makers state 6 months. Once it stops turning, the polish is still usable, it will just stay in either the warm or cold state. I will say, I have some thermal polishes from 2011 and they STILL transition beautifully. So I don’t know what the key to a long life is, but know it can happen.

I took all my photos yesterday and my fingers were so cold! I had to cheat a little and dip them in warm water to start the thermal change happening. Then you can see it in all it’s transitions in the photos below. If you notice what looks like a small chip on my ring finger, it’s just a place I missed while painting. In real life it is a teeny tiny corner, but of course like the camera adding ten pounds, it also blows up all imperfections! I’m still wearing this and have absolutely no chips.

This has zoomed up to Top 10 polishes for 2017! I really love it!

Outside in direct sun. You will see the varying transitions in colors…

Outside in shade…

Inside without additional flash. These were the first photos I took inside and my fingers were too cold to transition…

Inside with additional flash. The all purple ones were taken first when my fingers were cold, the transitioning ones were taken later after I warmed up outside a little (and cheated with water)…

Well, there we have it!
