Ms. Sparkle – Opia // Pretty Purist Collection

Hi everyone! Today’s manicure comes all the way from the Netherlands! I finally got my first Ms. Sparkle order. There was a group buy in one of the Facebook groups I belong to for an exclusive polish from Ms. Sparkle (not this polish, this one just came along for the ride). 🙂 I bought six polishes total and I’m pretty happy with them so far!

This one was next to impossible to have photograph correctly. I don’t color correct my photos so I just got rid of 3/4’s of them and kept these few that seemed the closest.  These are still not right, but know that this is closer to what my polish actually looks like than the photos on the listing selling the polish. Mine is more of a pinky/purple grape color than the deep, almost royal, purple that the listing shows. My photos are a bit too light, I think the close up in the collage above is the closest. I also tried to get my watermark to match my nails rather than the photos today.

So anyway, Opia is described on the website as, “a bright violet jelly with a ton different pink, sapphire/purple, blue and orange glitters”. Like I said, mine is more of a pinky purple grape color. It does have a few colors and sizes and shapes of glitter in it.

It is a jelly finish and I used four coats plus some dabbing and still have a lot of visible nail line.  The polish does dry pretty fast (and matte too) with thin coats, so doing the four coats was not really a chore. It went on quite easy and smooth. I did only get one of the large round glitters to come out on it’s own. I had to fish for a little while and dab on the other two. I also used two coats of topcoat and can still feel the large round glitters that I placed. They stick up a little even with two coats of topcoat.

I do like this polish and would wear it again. My husband said it’s a party polish, good for a celebration and I agree with that. It is just quite a bit off from what I was expecting from the listing. The listing also states that only three coats are needed. I used four to five and it still doesn’t look like theirs.
