See Part 2 of my swatches and review HERE
Hi everyone! I got through 6 of the 12 polishes in the new/upcoming OPI Iceland Collection. Today I have swatches and my thoughts on these 6 polishes. You can see the bottles shots and swatch wheel photos HERE with my sneak peek post about the collection.
I have so many photos I like to share, that I have to split the collection up into two posts. Hopefully I will get Part 2 up on Monday or Tuesday.
This is very picture heavy and quite long!

So if you are familiar with OPI cremes, you know that they know how to make an excellent creme nail polish! So that I don’t bore you and have to just repeat myself five times, just know that all five of the cremes today are excellent formulas! They go on smooth, easy and self level beautifully. They all dry to a shiny finish. I will show a quick and dirty photo of each one at just one coat, then the rest of the photos for each color will be two coats. I will make additional notes on the colors as I go, but the formulas are all super stellar!
First up is Icelanded A Bottle of OPI. This is a medium taupe that really leans towards cement on my nails in certain lighting.
Here’s a photo of it with just one coat. No cleanup or topcoat. You can see there are no streaks and the coverage is great. This was inside with flash…

Here is the completed swatch, 2 coats with topcoat.

Next up is This Isn’t Greenland. This is a pretty, dusty, sage green.
Here’s a photo of it with just one coat. No cleanup or topcoat. You can see there are no streaks and the coverage is great. This was inside with flash…

Check Out The Old Geysirs. This is a blue/gray base color with brighter blue shimmer. I would call the overall color a porcelain blue. This is the only polish of the six from today that is not a creme. This one had a pretty good first coat. There is a little streaking, mainly some lifting/balding at the cuticles, but that was partly my fault for overworking the polish with one last swipe. The shimmer is most noticeable in bright indoor light, in the sun and with flash. Indoors in my darkened office it just adds a bit of oomph to the polish creating a nice glow. I love this one!
Here’s a photo of it with just one coat. No cleanup or topcoat. You can see there are not really streaks, just some balding at the cuticle line. The coverage is still great. This was inside with flash…

I’ll Have A Gin & Tectonic. This is a dusty salmon or maybe a light, dusty, terra cotta type color. It even almost looked like a pinky mocha at one point. It’s pretty unusual in my opinion.
Here’s a photo of it with just one coat. No cleanup or topcoat. I did a little experiment with this one coat swatch. I have my basecoat on all my fingers but my middle finger I left bare. You can see what a difference basecoat makes! The middle finger is super streaky whereas the other fingers are nice and smooth even at one coat. This was inside with flash…

Here is the completed swatch, 2 coats with topcoat. Remember the middle finger started out streaky without basecoat, and you can still see the streaks with two coats.

Aurora Berry-alis. This is a dark, dusty berry. All the polishes so far have had excellent formulas, but this one was even better if that’s possible. One coat may be enough for you depending on how thick of a coat you use. This one was hard to photograph correctly. If the pictures look red at all, they are not accurate. It’s a dusty berry color.
Here’s a photo of it with just one coat. No cleanup or topcoat. You can see there are no streaks and the coverage is great. This could be a one coater if you’re careful!! This was inside with flash…

Here is the completed swatch, 2 coats *without* topcoat. I wanted to show how shiny these dry to. They will all dry super shiny!

Lastly I have One Heckla of a Color!. This is a medium dusty lavender. Another difficult to photograph color. If the photos look grape at all, that is not correct. It is a dusty lavender. Another excellent OPI creme formula!

Are any calling out to you yet? I love Fall/Winter collections the best. These are all great colors to me! I think my favorites from these six would be Check Out The Old Geysirs, This isn’t Greenland, and Aurora Berry-alis.
Stay tuned for Part 2 coming hopefully Monday!
See Part 2 HERE
Comparison request: OPI I Can Never Hut Up vs. OPI Check Out the Old Geysirs. You’ll see these are quite different. Hut Up is more of an army green with brighter green shimmer and Geysirs is a blue/gray with brighter blue shimmer. Swatches are 2 coats.

Outside in late day light. You can see the bottles look somewhat similar here, but they are different. Unfortunately I lost the sun…

In the lightbox…

Well, there we have it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Oh! I have Hut Up (untried)! Give me a few minutes and I’ll post a swatch wheel and bottle shot comparison for you. Just at first glance though, they are very different and you will want/need both! LOL 🙂
Hut Up is kind of an army green with a brighter green shimmer and Geysirs is blue/gray with a brighter blue shimmer.
Check this post again in about 15-30 minutes or so and I’ll swatch and take some photos for you!
