Hi everyone! Today’s manicure is a re-released color from Cirque Colors. You may be familiar with this polish. It was first introduced back in 2013 when it came out as a collaboration with Jeannie Vianney. That bottle came with a rose gold plated crown ring and a hefty price point ($48). It was then released in a Nordstrom ‘Nike Pop In Collection” in 2015 without the ring and a normal price point. Coronation sold out quick! And now finally, it has been once again re-released this month in a pre-order of the Holiday 2017 Collection. Again, it sold out quick but you can sign up on the Cirque Colors website to be notified when another release comes out in December. Be fast though, I have a feeling it will sell out quickly again. I am not affiliated with Cirque Colors.

Coronation is a purple jelly base with the red, green, gold shifting pigment known as “Unicorn Pee” and a scattered twinkling holographic glitter that comes out in the sun. To me, the purple base color can look anywhere from grape to royal depending on the lighting (the maker calls it violet). The maker has also said this is an exact duplicate of the original polish (except for the lavender smell, I don’t think she adds the lavender in her polishes anymore, but more on the smell in a moment). It has a pretty good formula. Don’t overwork the polish as you’re applying so it doesn’t add in a bald area, especially by the cuticle line. I’m not a fan of the brush, but that is a personal preference. It is a nice size, I just wish it was a bit more stiff. On my nubs two coats would probably be sufficient, I did add a third, plus topcoat, to be safe.
Now the smell — It stinks! I read in a Facebook group I belong to that the smell is from the base used and not everyone will even notice a smell. It does dissipate after the polish dries for a little while (maybe 30-60 minutes).
Even with the brush and the smell, I still love it! The shimmer is really noticeable and the added holographic touch makes this a little different than most of my other “UP” polishes.
