Hey everyone! Today I went way back to 2011!! This was a time before a lot of indie polish brands started popping up and Finger Paints wowed the MakeupAlley Nail Board with their Special Effects Collection. This was a collection of 5 flakie toppers. You’ll see in my pictures my bottle looks like the base has turned yellow, but as far as I can remember, it was yellow when I bought it, all 5 of them were. It doesn’t hurt anything, as long as you use it over a darker color.
In 2014 Finger Paints came out with another flakie topper collection called the Kaleidoscope Collection. That also had 5 polishes and they were in a clear base. I do have those also, but they just never excited me the way this first collection did. I am not affiliated with Finger Paints.
Twisted was the most colorful of the 5 flakie toppers in the Special Effects Collection. It seemed to take some flakies from each of the other 4 polishes in the collection and mix them all up together. Every color is represented: blue, green, red, orange, and yellow. The formula was very easy to apply too. The flakes all came out easily and disbursed with just a little maneuvering around.
So gorgeous! Even still today, this is a knockout polish! Gah! I love this one so much!! I can’t wait to see it mattified!

I love the 2011 FP flakies! They always had a yellowish base but mine have definitely darkened over time, possibly because I had them in storage for a few months in summer heat. Twisted is my favorite, I love it over red…or anything, really.
