Hi everyone! Today’s manicure is from Great Lakes Lacquer. Unfortunately this was an exclusive polish from January’s Polish Pickup, so it’s no longer available. If you like this one, check out all the other gorgeous things on her website HERE.
If you are not familiar with Polish Pickup, it’s a way for a bunch of indie polish makers (plus wax makers, cuticle care makers and jewelry makers) to get together to do an exclusive polish (etc.) around a central theme, and have them up for sale for just a few days each month.
What I like about this concept is you can try different and ‘new to you’ brands (plus old favorites) and shipping is just $3 within the US no matter how many polishes you buy or how many orders you make within that 4 day period the shop is open. So the shop is open the first Friday through Monday of each month. If you place 4 orders in that time frame, you will only pay $3 shipping (once the extra shipping is refunded). If you buy 20 polishes within that weekend, shipping is still only $3 (and you are very lucky!!) 🙂
The Polish Pickup has really taken off and grew quickly. These days there are often over 60 unique offerings so it’s hard to whittle down your shopping list!! You can read all about Polish Pickup HERE and shop to your hearts desire March 2-5, 2018. That is the next opening weekend for the store. March’s theme is Books and the sneak peeks in the Facebook group look Gorgeous!! This is going to be an expensive month I’m afraid!
I am not affiliated with Great Lakes Lacquer or Polish Pickup.

Glass On Fire was described as, “magenta flowing with blue to purple shifting shimmer, packed with flake shifting from orange to gold to green”. I’m sure that is all correct, but to me, once it’s on the nail, it is a deep purple leaning magenta with fiery red/pink flakes and blue to purple shimmer. I love it! This had an excellent formula! The flakies come out and distribute easily. It dries smooth with a shiny finish. I used two coats plus topcoat. It is beautiful!

Inside with flash (the flash lightened the color a bit)…

Inside without flash (again these are a bit lighter than it usually looks)…

Outside in indirect sun/shade (the shade photos are very true to life to what this polish looks like to me when inside)…

Well, there we have it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
The polish in this post is from my own collection and was purchased by me.
