Hi everyone! I was so excited when Lexi from Geekish Glitter Lacquer contacted me asking if I could swatch and review her Summer 2018 Polish and the first two polishes from her new Zodiac Series!
You can find Geekish Glitter Lacquer HERE. These three polishes were sent to me to swatch and give an honest review. This is long with a lot of photos!

I’ll start with the Summer 2018 color, I Can Hear The Ocean’s Roar. This is a solar color changing polish meaning it will change color in direct sun. This is a celery green base with shifting flakies that look like they shift from a dark gray color to a bright green to gold and there is a touch of holo glitter. That is what it looks like inside. Step outside into the sun and you get an immediate change! It starts off as a khaki/taupe changing right into a ruby pink color. You have the same dark to gold flakies and the holo glitter comes alive.
This had an excellent formula! It stays right where you brush it, there is no running or pooling into the cuticles. Two coats looked good to my eyes but there was a little visible nail line so I added a third coat. This dried to a bit of a satin finish so a glossy topcoat will shine it right up.
OMGosh you guys! This polish is so cool and so much fun! As soon as I walked outside into the sun it instantly went to a khaki/taupe right to a ruby pink. As you move your fingers around into and out of the sun the polish reacts, so sometimes you will get a muddled look of taupe and pink. It is so fun! To get to the deepest red you really need to hold your nails still, right in the sun, for a few seconds. You do need a bright, hot sun to make this work the best. I tried in a late evening sun and it wasn’t changing with the ease and intensity that it had earlier in the day. Then, as soon as I went back inside it instantly changed back to the celery/sage green color of indoors. I had a blast playing with this one! This would be perfect for a day at the pool or beach! In case you can’t tell, I love it!

Next up: Geekish Glitter Lacquer is starting a new Zodiac Series. She is starting this month with Cancer. The Zodiac sign for Cancer is known as The Crab. If your birthday falls between June 21 – July 22, you are a Cancer. Cancers are ruled by the Water element. Their strengths include being tenacious, highly imaginative, loyal, emotional, sympathetic and persuasive. Their weaknesses include being moody, pessimistic, suspicious, manipulative and insecure.
Lexi came up with two polishes for this first in the series, The Crab and Water. These two polishes will only be available during the month of the Zodiac sign. So for Cancer the availability dates are June 21-July 22.
Let’s start with The Crab. This is a deep tomato red jelly base with shifting flakies and lots of shimmer. The flakies are actually silver/gold ultra chrome chameleon flakes but the orangy red jelly base makes them look dark gray to orange to gold depending on the angle. The shimmer also is an orangy gold.
This had an excellent formula! The flakies all come out and distribute beautifully. Even though it is a jelly base it applies smoothly and evenly. Two coats looked great to my eyes, but you may have a little visible nail line at two coats so I added a third coat plus topcoat for the photos. The jelly base gives you a lot of dimension and the polish looks like it is lit from within with that shimmer. I love it!

Next from the Cancer sign of the Zodiac is Water. This is a blue/green glow in the dark topcoat. One tip I found is to really shake the bottle a lot before applying. That gets all the GITD pigments mixed up and ready. I didn’t have any issue with bubbling even after shaking and applying immediately. I had never tried taking a photo of a glow in the dark polish before. Let me tell you, it is hard!
This topcoat glows like crazy on the nails (and in the bottle!!) but it was difficult to get a good picture of it. I added one coat over my manicure of I Can Hear The Ocean’s Roar.
All photos outside at nighttime.

You can find this Glow in the Dark topcoat at geekishglitterlacquer.bigcartel.com. This polish is also only available during the dates of the Cancer Zodiac month, June 21-July 22, 2018. It will cost $7.00
So what do you all think? I’ve played with thermal polishes a lot before but I’m kind of new to solar polishes; I had so much fun with that one! And I love deep, glowy reds, so The Crab was right up my alley! I’m new to glow in the dark polishes, but this seems like a great glower!
All three of these polishes are available starting June 21, 2018.
