Hi everyone! Today’s manicure was a tough color for me to get my hands on! Originally the Vanessa Hudgens Collection was sold at Ulta; it was super easy to find and purchase. This color however didn’t make it due to some production problems. A couple months of excuses and people getting sent free ones from Sinful Colors (if they were lucky enough) and finally there was a release at Walgreens (maybe other stores also, but I know many people were able to get this at Walgreens). Unfortunately for me, my Walgreens stores have not got any new Sinful Collections all year and my Walmart no longer carries ANY Sinful Colors! It’s very difficult for me to ever find Walgreens or Walmart releases. This is why I really wish Sinful Colors would just open an online store. It would be so much easier that way for many of us!
I’d congratulate the people on the Sinful Colors FB fan page when they were sent free ones or won drawings for them but would put my wish out there hoping that I could get my hands on this color. Then a polish fairy who goes by @walkofnails came to my rescue! She’d seen my posts of wanting this one and not being able to find it in my area so when she found some at her local Walgreens, she thought of me and messaged if I’d like one.
That’s why I love the nail polish community. People are always looking out for each other and helping each other out. So that is my story of getting my hands on this color. Thank you Amy for helping me!
Shimmy Shimmy is described on the website as, “Feel sapphire’d up in this shimmering lapis blue-slash-purple hue!”. As I was applying it I wrote that it was a denim blue base with brighter blue sparkles and pink shimmer. The color does go more to a blurple base in brighter or natural light. Formula was really good. It was easy to apply and stayed where you painted it. I used two coats plus topcoat. I still had a little bit of visible nail line with two coats but it wasn’t bad at all. You may need two to three coats depending on how you apply it. It was worth the trouble! I love it!

I would be deliriously happy if Sinful Colors opened a virtual shop. Where I live they are hard to come by – I habitually get some at Amazon or Ebay, most of the time ridiculously expensive, seldom those I really REALLY want. It’s so frustrating.
