Hi everyone! I have another Holiday 2018 collection to show you today. This time it’s from China Glaze and guess what? There is not a creme finish in the whole collection! We have shimmers and ultra holo glitter and glass fleck and a glitter topper but not a single plain creme! I love it!
I actually found this collection at Rite Aid the other day! I’d never seen a new China Glaze collection there before but I had to clear out the whole display and buy the whole thing! This is another long post with a lot of photos!
EDIT: When I got this collection it wasn’t available at PolishPick.com but it is now! Check them out and tell them I sent you!!

There are 8 polishes in this collection. I enjoyed swatching every one of them! I grew up watching the Grinch and reading all the Dr. Seuss books (well, who hasn’t!) so I really enjoyed this collection! Let’s get started!
- Deliciously Wicked – This is a frosty icy blue base with silver ultra holo glitter and silver glitter in a couple of sizes. This is a little brushstroke-y but it’s not too noticeable with all that glitter. It starts off a little sheer but builds up nicely. It reminds me of the Zoya “Ultra Pixie Dusts” but this doesn’t dry super textured like those do. I used 3 coats (I think 2 would have been enough) and just 1 coat of topcoat smoothed it out for me!

- Grinchworthy – This is a bright green base with green and gold sparkling micro glitter and shimmer. This was so smooth and easy to apply! It is very sparkly but not overly textured when it’s dried. I used 2 coats without topcoat.

- Ho! Ho! No. – This is a bright tomato red with gold and red micro glitter and shimmer. Another excellent formula! It had a smooth and easy first coat. It dries smooth but a little dull so I added a glossy topcoat. I used 2 coats plus 1 coat of topcoat.

- Lukewarm Wishes – This is a milky white base with a strong blue shimmer. First I will show you this all on it’s own. Wearing it alone you will definitely have visible nail line but I really love the look! In the sun it looks like a sparkly nude and indoors it looks more opaque (but not super opaque, you will always have VNL). Indoors it’s a soft white with that blue sparkle. I used 3 coats alone plus 1 coat of topcoat. It dries smooth.

Now I will show you Lukewarm Wishes over a couple base colors. I have 3 coats alone on my index, 1 coat over white on my middle, 1 coat over black on my ring and 1 coat over a periwinkle blue (Sinful Colors Spellbound) on my pinky. I was playing on a swatch wheel with this one and it looks good over so many base colors! Really go crazy and have fun contrasting that shimmer!

- Merry Whatever – This is a sheer gold base with gold ultra holo glitter, gold glitter and shimmer. This was smooth and easy to apply, there was no running or pooling into my cuticles. This builds up nicely with 2 coats. I added a third coat on my index and middle and didn’t notice any benefit to that third coat. It dries super shiny and not too textured. I used 2 or 3 coats without topcoat.

- Resting Grinch Face – This is a glitter topper with a clear base and a great holiday mix of colored, sparkly glitter. You have red, green, blue, gold and some holo. All the colors are in 2 sizes of glitter. It’s a really fun mix! Alot of glitter comes out on the brush but without alot of base so you don’t end up with a thick, gloppy mess. It comes out easily and you just need to brush it around a bit to place the glitter where you like it. I added 1 coat over Lukewarm Wishes. This dries very smooth! I did not add topcoat for my swatch but you will want one coat for a manicure.

Here’s Resting Grinch Face over Grinchworthy (in the lightbox)…

- Who Wonder – This is a bright pink/berry glass fleck. This one is a runner! It ran down the brush stem and it ran into my cuticles. It’s such a beautiful color and finish that I will forgive it for running so wildly! It’s so bright and cheerful for the holidays! I used 2 coats (but you may be happy with just one if you’re careful!) without topcoat. It dries very smooth and shiny! I love it!

- You’re A Mean One – This is a purple base with red or copper shimmer. It has a smooth and easy first coat. A little ran down the stem so watch for that. It builds up beautifully with 2 coats. I did not add topcoat. I love it!

So what do you think? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear from you! I love this whole collection!
A little PSA: Some of these glitters remind me of the older China Glaze glitters. I’ve read stories of those evaporating in their bottles over time. I have not had that happen to mine but I make sure to clean off the necks and threads before I put them away. That will keep a tight seal and not let air in the bottle.
I love the Grinch caps, how fun are those?? Look how cute these bottle lids are:

Comparison:
I had a request to compare You’re A Mean One with OPI Feel the Chemis-tree from last years holiday collection. These are near dupes. If I’m being picky, the shimmer in the China Glaze is smoother and seems to sink right into the polish whereas the OPI’s shimmer stands out a little more. And the base colors are just a tad off. The China Glaze has just a drop of red or brown maybe? idk, unless you need to collect all the purple polishes, these are so close you can just get one of them.

Well, there we have it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
The polish in this post is from my own collection and was purchased by me.

I ran into RiteAid looking for a Sinful Color called Powerful Potion and saw these! The last time they had CG was the My Little Pony collection!
Of course I bought all of them , and I LOVE the entire collection,

Hi Debra! I knew I didn’t see China Glaze in Rite Aid very often! Hopefully they’ll continue to get more collections in! This is a great collection! Glad you’re enjoying it also!!
I went in looking for some Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes. I didn’t see them but this collection was an even better find!! 🙂 Did you find that Sinful Colors? That’s been an elusive one!!

Any chance you can compare you’re a mean one with feel the chemis-tree from opi’s holiday collection last year? Trying to decide if I need both. Thanks!

Hi! That’s a good comparison! I will get some photos up later today (it’s midnight here right now) but those two do seem to be close enough dupes you will not need both! (unless you’re like me and need all the purple polish!!) 🙂

I put up a photo comparison of those two polishes. It’s at the end of this post. ♥

I really like your nails shorter. If they were filed straight, they would be stunning.
