OPI Soft Shades Collection – Always Bare For You // Spring 2019
Hi everyone! Today I have the 2019 6 piece Soft Shade collection from OPI called Always Bare For You. Four of them are sheer jelly formulas, one is a frosty nude and one is a shimmery number that can be worn alone or layered over these colors or anything else you already have! I bought this collection from PolishPick.com with a small blogger discount.
I have a lot of photos today!
For all of these swatches, I have 2 coats on my ring and pinkie nails and 3 coats on my index and middle nails plus topcoat unless noted.
OPI Baby Take A Vow – This is a sheer jelly, barely there tint of pink on the first coat. The second coat (ring and pinkie nails) made me think my nails looked so clean and healthy! The third coat (index and middle nails) does build up a little more but on it’s own this is meant to always be sheer and you will have visible nail line. The formula was a little runny but not too bad.

I added one coat of Throw Me A Kiss.

OPI Bare My Soul – This is a pink tinged nude. The first coat is smooth and even with just a shiny sheer wash of barely there color. The second coat (ring and pinkie nails) added a touch more nude color. The third coat (index and middle nails) built it up a bit more but on it’s own this will always be sheer with visible nail line.

OPI Chiffon-d Of You – This is a frosty, brush-strokey pink tinged champagne nude. It reminds me a little of the inside of a sea shell. This had a good formula except for the brush strokes. Again I have two coats on my ring and pinkie nails and three coats on my index and middle nails. I think I would like this one more if I sponged on the last coat to get rid of the brush strokes.

OPI Engage-meant To Be – This is a light gray jelly. The first coat is smooth and even, just a very slight tint of color and shine. The second coat (ring and pinkie nails) adds a very slight bit more color. The third coat (index and middle nails) did deepen the color a bit more but as with the rest it is meant to be sheer on it’s own and you will have visible nail line. I did not add topcoat to this one. I also forgot to use basecoat. I see some “streaks” in some of the photos I think that may just be my ridges in my nails. I am not sure but I did not notice the streaks with my eyes, just in the photos.

OPI Ring Bear-er – This is a blue/gray jelly. OPI Throw Me A Kiss – This is an ethereal, shimmery topper but it can be worn alone as well. It seems to have some pink, white and iridescent shimmer flecks. This is how it looks alone. I have two coats on my ring and pinkie nails and three coats on my index and middle nails.

Here is Baby, Take a Vow (index), Bare My Soul (middle), Engage-meant to Be (ring), Ring Bare-er (pinkie). 3 coats of each of the jelly finishes with topcoat.

Well, there it is. I love jelly finishes and do not mind visible nail line so I love these. I’m not a big fan of Chiffon-d Of You because I don’t love frosty brush-strokey polishes but if I sponged on the last coat I think I would like that better. I do love the “topper” Throw Me A Kiss. I did not have a problem with streaks except for the one I mentioned.
Let me know in the comments what you think! If you have any comparison requests let me know and if I have it I will swatch it for you!
Thank you for spending some time with me today!
Don’t forget to check out PolishPick.com and let them know I sent you! 🙂
I’ve had a couple of comparison requests along with a lot of people saying this reminds them of the OPI Ballet Collection. I only have two polishes from that collection, but here’s what I’ve done…
Well, there we have it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I appreciate your huge efforts to showcase these OPI polishes very much indeed. Sorry to say but I find these new shades so wishy-washy and insignificant looking. For me, it was only the new shimmering topper that saved them all. That is the only one I would consider buying and OPI is the only brand I will use as it lasts the longest. Thanks for showing us all the possible effects.
Hi Ruth! Thank you so much for checking out my blog and commenting! I do love that shimmery topper! I love OPI too, it’s the brand I own the most of for sure!
This has to be the first OPI collection where I actually hate every single polish. Wow! What a mess! What was OPI thinking? I’m looking forward to their neon summer collection. Thanks for sharing.
Hi katellita!
Thanks for checking out my post, I’m glad you liked it! I usually use an old, discontinued matte topcoat from Hard Candy, “Matte-ly In Love”. It is my very favorite but since it’s discontinued it’s hard to find.
I do also have one from OPI that I like also, and I’ve saw and heard great things about one by Quixotic Polish “Truly, Matte-ly, Deeply”. I haven’t tried that one but I love Quixotic as a brand so I’m sure it’s awesome! You can find that one at quixoticpolish.com.
