Hi everyone! Today I have a glimpse into the Fall 2019 collection from OPI! With a new puppy in the house I’m not sure when I will get these on my nails but I had to at least show off some bottle and swatch wheel photos!
I purchased this collection from PolishPick.com with a small blogger discount. They will be on sale there sometime today (July 1)!

There are 12 polishes in this collection. It’s not earth shattering in it’s originality, there are a lot of cremes and crellies but there is one stand out star in the collection! I will do my best to describe what I see.
My order came with this booklet from OPI talking about the Scotland Collection…

- OPI A little Guilt Under the Kilt – This is a classic, glowy, OPI red shimmer. They do these so well!

- OPI Boys Be Thistle-ing At Me – This is an aubergine purple with what appears to be a delicate sliver shimmer. It’s very pretty!

- OPI Edinburgh-er & Tatties – This is like a peachy sand colored creme. It’s a nice neutral. I had a hard time capturing this color in the swatch wheel photos.

- OPI Good Girls Gone Plaid – This is a deep purple crelly. It actually looks brown on my swatch wheel. It’s very dark.

- OPI Nessie Plays Hide & Sea-k – This is the star in my opinion. It’s a royal blue jelly with a strong green shimmer. It looks very sheer on my clear swatch wheel, I’m not sure what it will look like on the nail. My favorite! I had to add a second bottle shot of this one.

- OPI Nice Set Of Pipes – This is like a dusty denim blurple colored creme. I like the dustiness of it.

- OPI OPI Grabs the Unicorn by the Horn – This is a dusty sky blue (Wedgwood blue type) creme/crelly. Boy, this is a missed opportunity with a name like that! OPI could have done something fun and exciting but chose to make it a creme.

- OPI Red Heads Ahead – This is a nice, bright, tomato red creme/crelly.

- OPI Rub-A-Pub-Pub – This is a dark, kind of dusty gray creme.

- OPI Suzi Needs A Loch-smith – This is like a pumpkin orange colored creme. It is a great fall color! I love this one!

- OPI Things I’ve Seen In Aber-green – This is like a dark, mossy, grayed green creme.

- OPI You’ve Got That Glas-glow – This is like a dusty pinkish mauve creme. I like this color a lot too! This was another one that didn’t want to photograph very well in the swatch wheel photos.

Swatch wheel is in the same order as above (alphabetical).
Inside with flash…

Outside on an overcast day..

Inside the lightbox. First photo does not have flash the other 2 have additional flash…

There is the whole collection. What do you think? If you see anything that looks comparable, let me know in the comments and if I have it I will swatch them when I do my nail swatches.
Neroli wanted to see a comparison between Nessie Plays Hide & Sea-k (darker color) with OPI Sky’s My Limit. You can see these are not dupes. Sky is lighter and “chunkier”. The shimmer in Nessie seems to sink right into it. First photo is in the lightbox, second is with flash…
Ruth wanted to see what Nessie Plays Hide & Sea-k looked like over a few of the creme colors from this collection. It turns out Nessie is more opaque than my swatch wheel lets on, so it didn’t make much difference over any of them but the lightest blue, OPI Grabs the Unicorn.
This is Nessie Plays Hide & Sea-k over (in order) OPI Grabs the Unicorn, Nice Set of Pipes, Good Girls Gone Plaid, Rub A Pub Pub, Things I’ve Seen In Aber-green. I’ve left a stripe of the base color so you can see what it looks like. Photos are in the lightbox, then with flash…

Well, there we have it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
The polish in this post is from my own collection and was purchased by me.

Always enjoy your swatches, Paula, thanx! I was really curious about this collection so I am always way okay with just a nail wheel, I love that you include ‘normal’ lighting, rather than just thousand watt kliegs ;-p

Hi V!
I’m so glad even just the swatch wheel helps out! Thanks so much for checking out my blog today and leaving a comment, I really appreciate it!

Many thanks indeed for your huge efforts in showing us this new collection. I only ever use OPI but I won’t be rushing to buy any of these. It would be interesting to see the sheer blue/green shimmery shade over some of the other most suitable colours, as it may totally transform them.

Hi Ruth!
That’s a great idea! I will try to layer that over a couple of the other colors here and will post an update to the blog post when I do!
Thanks so much for checking out my blog!

Hello Paula, That would be great, thanks. The Loch Ness sheer shimmery one should work well over the plain blue and grey colours. It’s strange how in the UK we use many different spellings to the Americans, like colour/color. grey/gray, neighbour/neighbor, centre/center etc.

I will post here in the comments to let you know when I have done that layering!
I lived in Canada for 10 years and they use UK spelling for everything too so I’m used to seeing things both ways!

What about the 2 exclusives available on Polish Pick? I can’t seem to figure out what shades they are.
Looking forward to the swatches.

Hi Suzanne!
PolishPick had a picture on their Instagram page of the 2 exclusives. One looks like a hot pink shimmer and one they say is a purple creme. I’m going to get those, but they were not in stock when I was able to order the collection and I didn’t want to wait to get the whole collection for those 2.

Nessie Plays Hide & Sea-k looks gorgeous but pretty similar to a couple of other OPI’s I have (namely The Sky’s My Limit) – any idea on comparison?

Hi Neroli!
I can do that comparison for you. I will post here when I get some photos up!

Your swatch and reviews are always great! Looking forward to seeing the full review. OPI March in Uniform from last year’s holiday collection looks pretty close to Nice Set of Pipes. I would really like to see that comparison if you have both.

Hi Susan!
Thanks so much for the kind words! I will do that comparison in the next few days but from the bottles, Nice Set of Pipes is a bit more grayed/purple almost. I will post here when I have photos up so you don’t have to keep checking back. 🙂

“With a new puppy in the house…” I just almost died laughing!!! My first time on your blog, and my family is going through the “new puppy” insanity, too! 😂 Great swatches, comparisons, and layering experiment—but yeah, not the most creative OPI collection ever. Definitely autumn-y, though! 🙂

Hi Bristolsouth!
I forgot how much energy and inquisitiveness a puppy has! It has been 12 years since there was a puppy in the house and this little Pomeranian is into everything! But she is adorable and I wouldn’t trade her for anything! ♥
I’m so glad you found my blog and left a comment! I love reading them!

I totally agree that they couldve donr something more fun and less mainstream with the unicorn one …I’m not a fan of bland and boring however I did like the blue color alot aND love that it’s a crelly I will be making it more exciting like I do with all jelly and crelly s by adding flakies layered in between and on top I also ordered nessie I’m a cryptic fan and love love love the name and concept however bright green flakies would’ve looked so good in the jelly instead of tiny shy shimmers I will jazz it up tho can’t ever rely on opi to make things super exciting lol . I will be releasing my brand Tips n Tails (mermaid inspired ) on etsy sometime in the future lots of flakies, color shifts and holo!

Hi Mel!
Is it really? I did not know that! Now I really want to go visit Scotland!!
All I meant was it should have been a sparkly, glitter filled polish, not just a plain creme!
Thanks for checking out my blog!
