Hi everyone! I’m back with the 6 piece collection for Halloween 2019 from China Glaze. This collection is called Catch A Color. China Glaze have had some really great Halloween collections in the past. This one is pretty nice, I enjoyed swatching them.
I purchased this collection from PolishPick.com with a small blogger discount.

There are 6 polishes here, so I will just get right to it.
- Arrest In Peace – This is a glitter topper with just a tint of gray/black base with shiny, larger black hex and small black and red glitter. I’m showing this with one coat over a white creme base on my index and middle nails only. A lot of glitter comes out and it lays down easily and smoothly. You’ll see without fishing out the glitter I only got the larger pieces on my index nail. So you may need to fish around for some of those. I did wait until the next day to take photos and I had some tip wear already. I did try to “fix” it but just ended up making it look worse, so that weirdness at my tips was my fault, not really the polishes fault. 😦
- Get Off My Cold Case – This is a glitter topper with just a tint of an orange base with tiny black and shiny orange glitter. I am showing one coat over a white creme base on my ring and pinky nails only. A lot of glitter came out and it disbursed evenly on the nail. This one did not have the same tip wear problem as the one above.

- Green With Jealousy – This is a deep emerald green with lighter green and gold shimmer. This did want to run down the stem some (I find a lot of recent China Glaze do that) so watch for drips down the brush stem. It had excellent first coat coverage. If you have shorties like me you may be happy with just one coat. For the photos I did two coats plus topcoat. I left my ring nail at just one coat so you can see the difference.

- Pathological Liar Liar – This is one of my favorites. It’s a burnt orange base with delicate holo micro glitter. The first coat is VERY sheer but it builds up nicely with a second coat. Again, shorties like mine can possibly stop at two coats but may be happier with three. This one is a runner. It ran in my cuticles and down the brush stem. It’s so pretty I forgive it though. I used three coats plus topcoat.

- Private Side Eye – This is a deep purple with fine green shimmer and delicate holo micro glitter. I thought this was going to be more sheer like Pathological Liar Liar but it went on really nicely at one coat. There was a little patchiness but mostly even. It’s also a runner, into my cuticles and down the stem. It’s very dark when it’s opaque, it looks mostly black inside . I used 2-3 coats plus topcoat.

- You’ve Got Blackmail – This is a black base with silver shimmer. It dries to a textured finish. It has a really good formula with an even first coat. It’s also quite opaque at one coat but I did add a second coat and no topcoat. This is also one of my favorites but I am a fan of textured polishes.

Here are a couple swatch wheel photos. I obviously didn’t know my alphabet and have Private Side Eye before Pathological Liar Liar on the wheel.
The wheel shows one coat of each color then the glitters have 1 coat over white and the other 4 have 2-3 coats on their second nail.

gotta go with “green with jealousy”… I love that china glaze does a halloween collection every year. the textured polish reminds me of zoya’s pixie dahlia which I already have and love. the glitters look tragic…. not inspired by dark polishes this year like “private side eye”….. and orange “liar” looks great in a fall collection, but the name is depressing in a serious way. maybe I’ll break out “getting to gnaw you” again!

I loved those glitters at first sight… But if they have orange in the mix I’m not interested. 😦

Just one has orange. The one with the tinted gray/black base only has red and black glitter.
