Hi everyone! Today I am veering away from polish for a minute to show you a wax melt that is coming up in the April 2019 Indie Pickup. If you are not familiar with Indie Pickup it is an offshoot of Polish Pickup. Polish Pickup is nail polish of course and Indie Pickup is everything else that is made by indie vendors: jewelry, wax melts, soap, magnets, crocheted items, oils, makeup, etc. They both open the first weekend (Friday-Monday) of each month at polishpickup.com. I don’t post about it, but I should really start a blog, RealWaxFanatic, because I love melting wax. If you are unfamiliar with wax melting, it’s like burning a candle without the flame (although there are tea light warmers too). The purpose is to fragrance your room or your whole house! You can get warmers and wax in a lot of places, even in stores like Walmart and Target, but there is a whole world of indie vendor wax, just like with polish!
Heaven Scent Treasure Candles is one of those indie wax vendors. Shauna is the maker/owner and she has been in business for 3 years. She specialized in jewelry hidden in candles/wax melts and now she has branched off into plain wax melts and roll on perfumes. She also has plans to expand into soaps, lotions and other body care. You can find her online shop at heaven-scent-treasure-candles.myshopify.com/. (To be clear, for IPU you are buying a plain wax melt, no hidden jewelry inside).
So April’s theme for Polish/Indie Pickup is Famous Works of Art. Shauna went with an art concept, The Paisley Design, rather than a work of art. Her wax melt is a beautiful green and purple paisley design. She makes her own Parasoy wax mixture and for this melt she also used liquid dye and Mica for the brilliant green and purple colors as well as some shimmer you will see as it melts. With Spring right around the corner she wanted something fresh and lively so went with a Pink Grapefruit scent.
This wax melt is strong as it melts, it scented my whole house! I loved the Pink Grapefruit scent, it was so clean and fruity. As a testament to how much I love this, I was sent this one as a press sample and I wish I could buy a truckload of it, but I will be buying at least a couple more when the store opens! Even my husband commented how amazing the house smelled when he got home that day.
It’s even pretty as it melts! I didn’t realize there would be some shimmer showing up but it just added to the beauty of the melting wax pool.
