Hi everyone! Today’s manicure is from Great Lakes Lacquer. Unfortunately this was an exclusive polish from January’s Polish Pickup, so it’s no longer available. If you like this one, check out all the other gorgeous things on her website HERE.
If you are not familiar with Polish Pickup, it’s a way for a bunch of indie polish makers (plus wax makers, cuticle care makers and jewelry makers) to get together to do an exclusive polish (etc.) around a central theme, and have them up for sale for just a few days each month.
What I like about this concept is you can try different and ‘new to you’ brands (plus old favorites) and shipping is just $3 within the US no matter how many polishes you buy or how many orders you make within that 4 day period the shop is open. So the shop is open the first Friday through Monday of each month. If you place 4 orders in that time frame, you will only pay $3 shipping (once the extra shipping is refunded). If you buy 20 polishes within that weekend, shipping is still only $3 (and you are very lucky!!) 🙂
The Polish Pickup has really taken off and grew quickly. These days there are often over 60 unique offerings so it’s hard to whittle down your shopping list!! You can read all about Polish Pickup HERE and shop to your hearts desire March 2-5, 2018. That is the next opening weekend for the store. March’s theme is Books and the sneak peeks in the Facebook group look Gorgeous!! This is going to be an expensive month I’m afraid!

Hey everyone! Today’s polish was made in honor of Bee’s Knees winning a couple of awards in the most recent IndieSwatch Awards. They won for Best New Brand and Best Blue Polish (for House On Haunted Chill). Congratulations Sarah on your win! Bee’s Knees will have a new collection coming out this Friday, February 9 and I think the extra from the prototype sale will be available too! If you like this one, check her website HERE on Friday! I am not affiliated with Bee’s Knees.
Hey everyone! Today I went way back to 2011!! This was a time before a lot of indie polish brands started popping up and Finger Paints wowed the MakeupAlley Nail Board with their Special Effects Collection. This was a collection of 5 flakie toppers. You’ll see in my pictures my bottle looks like the base has turned yellow, but as far as I can remember, it was yellow when I bought it, all 5 of them were. It doesn’t hurt anything, as long as you use it over a darker color.
In 2014 Finger Paints came out with another flakie topper collection called the Kaleidoscope Collection. That also had 5 polishes and they were in a clear base. I do have those also, but they just never excited me the way this first collection did. I am not affiliated with Finger Paints.
Hi everyone! Today’s manicure is a gorgeous magnetic, multi chrome polish from Tonic Polish. Unfortunately, this was an exclusive limited edition for the Multichrome Madness Facebook group for last month, December 2017, so it is no longer available. Tonic Polish will be having another magnetic polish available again in the shop hopefully sometime soon.
You can find the Tonic web store HERE. You can find the Multichrome Madness Facebook group HERE. If you are a fan of all things multi chrome, it is the group to join! I am not affiliated with Tonic Polish or Multichrome Madness. I do have A LOT of photos today!!
Hi everyone! Today’s manicure was originally from an event that Glam Polish put on in 2016 for a bunch of small batch, limited edition polishes. I actually just bought this in a destash sale on Facebook though. Glam Polish is located in Australia and you can find the shop HERE. I am not affiliated with Glam Polish.
Hey everyone! Today’s manicure is another beauty from Nail Hoot Lacquer. Living in California, I miss having a white Christmas so I did a wintry white manicure instead! If you have a birthday in June this one was made for you! You can find this polish and many more gorgeous things from Nail Hoot HERE. I am not affiliated.
Hi everyone! Today’s manicure was a mystery prototype purchase from Scofflaw’s Black Friday sale. I bought 3 of them and love every one of them! You can find this brand HERE but everything is showing as sold out right now. You really need to sign up for the newsletter (on that page) to get notified of when she will reopen the shop. I’m a big fan of this brand! I am not affiliated.
Hi everyone! Today’s manicure is another stunner from Bee’s Knees Lacquer. She is jumping up to being one of my favorite indies. Her polishes are complex and fun to wear. This one was a perfect match to my Diorific Emerald mani from yesterday, they would make a great combination!
You can find Bee’s Knees products HERE. She’ll be closing up shop soon to reopen with this polish I’m sharing today and a few more new things on November 17. I am not affiliated with Bee’s Knees Lacquer.
Hi everyone! Today’s manicure is a new to me brand, Turtle Tootsie Polishes. This came in the last Seasonal Indie Box which was also a new purchase for me. The Seasonal Indie Box is a quarterly box issued for each season. There are three constant brands included and a guest maker for each box. The Fall box had Turtle Tootsie, Anchor & Heart and Colores de Carol (the three constant brands) and the guest maker was Tonic. I’ll be honest and say I bought this box for the Tonic Polish, as all three of the other brands were new to me. I was very pleasantly surprised once I received it though! I was very happy I got it, all four of the polishes look beautiful and I can’t wait to try them out and see what else they have to offer!
Unfortunately this Fall box is no longer available. Follow the makers on Facebook or Instagram to find out when the next box comes out. I am not affiliated with the Seasonal Indie Box nor any of the brands included.
