Hi everyone! In today’s manicure I have an oldie and a newbie to share with you. I have a lot of photos today.
I would say this nail polish is a pale grayed lilac (even though the name is violet) with pink shimmer. I thought this would maybe have to be layered, but 2-3 coats does build up to be opaque. Two coats showed a lot of visible nail line. Three coats covered the nail line pretty well. I used 3 coats plus topcoat for my photos. I love nail polish colors like this with contrasting shimmer!I started with Sinful Colors Japanese Violet. My bottle is the older round style. I bought this on Ebay a couple years ago, so I don’t know exactly when it came out. It does have the pre-“3 free” smell to it. When I Googled the color, images did come up of this color in the current bottle style too, so it has been re-released. I just don’t know when or if it’s currently available.

Then I added 2 coats of Nina Ultra Pro Butterfly Wings. I just purchased this nail polish this week at Sally Beauty Supply. It is a clear base with tons of pink to blue shimmer and small purple to green glitter . Really pretty nail polish topper! This would not build up to be opaque, it is a topper. But if you like a really sheer wash of “color” on your nails, you could try this nail polish on it’s own. I think this was a very nice combo, the two polishes went really well together. It dries smooth so only one coat of topcoat is needed.
