Hi everyone! I got in my September Polish Pickup (PPU) order on Friday and this Rogue Lacquer caught my eye right away so I had to put it on first thing! I love the bright blue glitter, they remind me of my birthstone, sapphires!
If you’re not familiar with Polish Pickup it’s a shopping experience that opens the first weekend of each month (Friday through Monday). I call it an experience because there are usually over 75 different Indie brands of nail polish up for sale. They all revolve around a central theme and all of those polishes are exclusive to that one weekend. You won’t find them anywhere else! We’re coming up on the first weekend of October so you can check out all the goodies and make an account and add to your wishlist for this coming Friday. October’s theme is Villains. Check out the Polish Pickup website HERE. If you like the look of this polish, you may want to see what else Rogue Lacquer has to offer too. You can find them HERE. I am not affiliated with Polish Pickup or Rogue Lacquer.

The theme from September was Horror Movies and this one was obviously based on The Creature from the Black Lagoon movie. This was described as, “creamy charcoal black with gold/green ucc flakes and sapphire holo glitters with shifting shimmer”. In the sun and brighter lights this looks more like a dark blue than black but in normal indoor lighting it looks black. This had an excellent formula! It doesn’t run or pool into the cuticles. It’s not streaky and it builds up beautifully. Depending on your painting style you will need 2-3 coats, I used three coats. It dries pretty smooth for all the flakies and glitter in there so I just needed one coat of topcoat and it was perfectly smooth. I really love this one so much!!
Rogue Lacquer Creature From the Black Lagoon 3 coats plus 1 coat of topcoat.
Inside with flash…

Inside my bright, naturally lit kitchen by the window…

Further inside my kitchen away from the window without flash. These do not have a matte topcoat, this area of my kitchen just makes the polish look really flat so you can really see what’s going on with it…

Inside with sun through a window…

Outside in the sun and in indirect sun through the trees…

Well, there we have it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
The polish in this post is from my own collection and was purchased by me.
