Hi everyone! I bought all three of the “Loubichromes” as soon as I saw them online in January. They are LE and I knew they would sell out fast, even at $30 a pop for a mini size. Good news, as I’m writing this today, from a quick Google search they are all still available online. You may have to go to a few different etailers to get them all, but it’s not too late to get them if you like them. These were my first Louboutin’s. I just had to have them as soon as I saw the packaging and the handle, especially! I’m a sucker for all things multi chrome. To me, they are like little pieces of art. I have quite a few pictures today since there are not many swatches out there.
I really love the bottle, LOVE the multi chrome handle, and the packaging is really cute. But I really, really dislike the stubby little brush. And there are no mixing balls. For $30 you’d think they could spring for at least one mixing ball. I think the fact that the handle is so long makes the brush seem even more stubby and it’s hard to work with. I could not find a way to release the long awesome handle so you have to paint with it like that. I managed, and maybe it gets easier with practice. Anyway, onto the polish itself…
Loubichrome I is described by the maker as, “energetic yellow infused with lime green. Infused with light reflecting pigment pearls”. I see a chartreuse green tinged yellow shimmer. Formula is difficult, mainly because of that short, tiny brush. When I was painting I was thinking this was not a good color on me. It has really grown on me overnight though, and I really do kind of like it. I think with a tan it would be better though. This leaves behind a few brushstrokes and some visible nail line at two coats.
So I don’t hate that I got these because I think the presentation and bottles/handles are beautiful, but I would have hoped for a better formula/brush for the price point. I do still have the other two to try and I’m looking forward to seeing how they apply.
