Hi everyone! Today I have the first 6 polishes from the new/upcoming OPI Grease Collection to share with you! This is the 40th Anniversary of Grease the movie! I may or may not be old enough to have seen this in a theater when it first came out (I’ll never tell!) but I do still have the original vinyl album!
Grease is one of a handful of movies I would watch over and over. It’s been a long time now since I’ve seen it. I was really looking forward to this collection when I heard it was coming!
As I was painting my nails with some of these I got an ear worm of the song the polish related to, so that was a fun remembrance!

Here are the first 6 in alphabetical order:
- OPI ‘Chills Are Multiplying‘. This is a deep navy blue crelly with brighter blue sparkle shimmer. This has a great formula! It is really pigmented so paint carefully because brush and acetone cleanup can get messy. This dries really shiny and has that sparkle deep inside which comes out easily in bright light or outside in the sun. This does always look blue, it is not a black looking blue indoors. You can always tell it is a beautiful deep blue. I used 2 coats plus topcoat. I love it!

- OPI ‘Danny & Sandy 4 Ever!’. I think this is a dark gray base with blue and silver micro shimmer which gives the polish a deep denim blue sparkly look at two coats. This has a great formula, it’s very easy to apply. It dries smooth and it does sparkle! It is also not difficult to remove. There is no glitter, it’s all shimmer so it easily came off for me with felt and Zoya Remove+. I used 2 coats plus topcoat.

- OPI ‘Don’t Cry Over Spilled Milkshake‘. This is a white cream that is barely tinged with mint green. This goes on a little streaky with the first coat. It’s not chalky though, application is easy just uneven. The second coat builds up and levels off beautifully. I used 2 coats plus topcoat. It was impossible for me to get the green to show up in pictures. Just know it is barely mint green looking!

- OPI ‘Frenchie Likes to Kiss?‘. This is a pale lavender with a brighter purple shimmer. The first coat goes on a little uneven but a thicker second coat levels off and builds up perfectly. The shimmer was making this one not want to level off as easily as the cremes so I just applied a thicker second coat and that worked beautifully. The shimmer is not overly noticeable unless you are in bright light, but it adds a nice glow and some oomph to the nail in all lighting. I love this one too!

- OPI ‘Hopelessly Devoted to OPI’. This is a medium pink leaning melon creme. Again, the first coat was a little streaky, not chalky just uneven, but the second coats built up and smoothed it out beautifully. I used 2 coats plus topcoat.

- OPI ‘Meet A Boy Cute As Can Be‘. This should have been called Met a Boy… since that is how the song goes but we get the idea. This is a pastel yellow creme. As with all the cremes in this post the first coat was a bit uneven but the second coat built up and leveled off nicely. I used 2 coats plus topcoat.

These first 6 polishes are all very nice. All the cremes were uneven on the first coat but the second coat made them all level off. They are not chalky and difficult to apply though, but rather really smooth and easy. There are some excellent spring and summer colors in here and a couple unexpected colors too. The unexpected colors were my favorite: Danny & Sandy 4 Ever!, Chills Are Multiplying, and Frenchie Likes to Kiss is a nice one too.
I will get to work on the next 6 colors which will be Part 2 and I will also have the 3 piece “Leather Like” colors from the collection as well! Watch for all that coming up this week!
