Hey everyone! It’s taken me awhile, but I have my swatches and review for the first 6 polishes in the new Ready To Wear FW 18 Collection from China Glaze. This is a 12 piece collection with a nice variety of finishes.
I also have just a couple comparisons at the bottom. If you think of something else you’d like compared to any of these, let me know in the comments and if I have it, I will swatch them for you!
Ready to Wear FW 18 is a collection of 12 polishes. Today we will look at the first 6 in alphabetical order:
- Aut-umn I Need That – This is a purply raisin colored base with what looks like gold, green, brown and red shimmer. This is a tough one to describe but it is so pretty! This was a little streaky on the first coat. The second coat evens out beautifully. This one will dry shiny and smooth so only one coat of topcoat is needed. The formula is really good. It doesn’t run or pool. Inside this mainly looks brown with gold shimmery micro glitter but the other colors of shimmer do add dimension and interest. This is 2 coats without topcoat. I really love this one for Fall!

- Central Parka – This is an olive green creme. This had a really nice formula. It is very smooth and easy to apply. There were no streaks. If you have shorties like me, one coat may be enough! It dries nice and shiny too! This is 2 coats without topcoat.

- Chic Happens – This is a silvery chrome like shimmer with, I think, a touch of lavender. I may be wrong about that, but in some lighting I swear I see a flash of purple. This one applies easily but there are brushstrokes. Maybe sponging it on or using it for stamping would be a better idea. This is not one of my favorites but it’s all because of those brushstrokes! This is 2 coats with topcoat.

- Haute Blooded – This is a burgundy red shimmer in the bottle. It dries to a satin matte finish. A lot of polish comes out on the brush so be careful not to overload the brush by wiping off a lot of the excess polish. Do not overwork the polish on the nail either or you will get lifting and balding. This dries fast so work quickly but carefully. The second coat applies much easier but I was left with some brushstrokes. I thought I would really love this one but if you’re looking for a red matte polish, check out the Zoyas (comparison below) they have better formulas. I used 2 coats first without topcoat then added in a glossy topcoat. I love the polish much more with topcoat!

- Mustard the Courage – This is a mustard yellow creme. Goldenrod comes to mind to describe this color. It is a great color for Fall! Formula is smooth and easy to apply, no streaking. Watch for a lot of polish on the brush and wipe off a lot of the excess before starting. This one will dry shiny. I really love these “ugly/pretty” type colors! This is 2 coats with topcoat. (PS… this had no staining on removal)

- Pay It Fashion Forward – This is a plum purple with gold and lighter purple (or pink or copper?) shimmer. This had an excellent formula! It applies smooth and easy. It also dries smooth so only one coat of topcoat is needed. I used 2 coats with topcoat. I love this one!

Further inside my kitchen away from the window. First three without flash then added in flash for the last three. These do not have matte topcoat, this area of my kitchen just makes the polish look flatter so you can see what’s going on in the polish better…

Here are a couple of comparison of polishes that came to mind as I was swatching these. If you think of something else to compare, let me know in the comments! All comparisons are two coats of each color.
Here is China Glaze Aut-umn I Need That, Zoya Sansa and OPI Teasy Does It. No dupes here…
@Toxxicbeautyx on Instagram wondered if Aut-umn I Need That is close to China Glaze’s Midtown Magic. That is a good call! Midtown Magic has a little darker base but I think the glitter mix is exactly the same so those are so close I don’t think you would need both unless you really love this type of color or are a collector. I also threw in Wood You Wanna? because I saw it in my drawer. It is not even close. This is 2 coats each in order: Midtwon Magic, Aut-umn I Need That, Wood You Wanna?
Here is China Glaze Central Parka and OPI (IS) Olive For Green. These are very close! The China Glaze is a little more murky and the OPI is a bit brighter…

So what do you think? I’m loving these smooth, easy to apply fall colored cremes! My favorite two from these six are Aut-umn I Need That and Pay it Fashion Forward.
